White Lotus has become the TV event that everyone is watching and everyone is talking about. Mike White's HBO anthology — each season placing new characters at a different luxury resort — has perfected the art of using beautiful settings to excavate ugly truths about wealth, entitlement, and the violence lurking beneath polished surfaces. Season 3 in Thailand is remarkable.
What Is White Lotus About?
Each season of White Lotus follows a group of affluent guests at a White Lotus resort over the course of roughly a week. Every season opens with a death — establishing that something terrible has happened — then works backward through the days leading up to it. Sharp class satire, gorgeous cinematography, and exceptional ensemble acting are the constants across all three seasons.
- Season 1 (Hawaii): Six episodes. Jennifer Coolidge, Murray Bartlett, Alexandra Daddario. The season that launched a cultural phenomenon.
- Season 2 (Sicily): Seven episodes. Jennifer Coolidge returns alongside F. Murray Abraham, Aubrey Plaza, and Michael Imperioli. Widely considered the high point of the series.
- Season 3 (Thailand): Eight episodes. Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger. The most intellectually ambitious installment yet.

HBO Max is the official streaming home, and HBO originals such as Succession and House of the Dragon sit there too. Cable and satellite subscribers can also add HBO as a premium channel; check with your provider whether that includes HBO Max app access.
Is White Lotus on Netflix or Amazon Prime?
No. White Lotus is an HBO original and is exclusively available on HBO Max in the US. It is not on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, or any other competing platform.
Why Season 3 Is the Best Yet
Season 3 takes the show's central preoccupations — the emptiness beneath wealth, spiritual hunger, and the specific violence of people with unlimited resources and unlimited time — and runs them through the lens of Buddhist philosophy and the collision between Western materialism and Eastern spiritual frameworks. The result is the most thematically rich season, with the most satisfying finale.
Walton Goggins delivers a performance that ranks among the best work in his career. Carrie Coon has never been better. Patrick Schwarzenegger proves definitively that he is far more than his famous parentage. Watch all three seasons in sequence for the full experience.
