This comparison is built from published specs, channel lineups and how each service positions itself — not a claim of independent lab testing across every market. The criteria are deliberately weighted toward the failures that ruin an evening rather than the numbers that look good on a sales page.
What matters is whether streams hold up at the busiest moment of the local sporting week — 3pm Saturday in England, 15:30 in Germany, an NFL Sunday in the US — not at a quiet hour when everything works.
A listed channel needs to resolve and carry what the guide says. Padded lineups full of dead entries should count against a service regardless of the headline number.
Programme data should match the broadcaster's published schedule. A guide showing yesterday's listings is a daily irritation nothing else compensates for.
Fire TV Stick, Android TV, Smart TV apps, iOS and MAG boxes all need to be genuinely supported, including older hardware that plenty of households still run.
What matters is whether support helps during an outage window, not just at 10am on a Tuesday. A queue that answers in two days isn't real support for live television.
Every service should let you test before paying and state clearly what renews at what price. Opacity about billing costs should count against it.
