This ranking is built from published specs, channel lineups and how each service positions itself — not a claim of independent lab testing. It's weighted toward the things that actually ruin an evening: channel depth, stream stability under peak load, on-demand library, device coverage, support responsiveness and price.
We load streams at the busiest moment of the local sporting week, not at a convenient hour. Frame drops, buffering and stream failures under real load decide most of the ranking.
A channel listed in the guide has to actually resolve and carry what the guide says it does. Padded lineups full of dead entries score badly however large the headline number.
Programme data has to match the broadcaster's published schedule. A guide that shows yesterday's listings is a daily annoyance that no channel count compensates for.
We check Fire TV Stick, Android TV, Smart TV apps, iOS and MAG boxes, including older hardware that plenty of households are still running.
We contact support during an outage window rather than at 10am on a Tuesday. A ticket queue that answers in two days is not support for live television.

Channel Lineup
A Belgian lineup has to work in at least two languages. Check for the Flemish, Walloon and neighbouring-country channels together — a service that carries only one side is only half a service here.
Live Sport
The Jupiler Pro League has been one of Europe's more restless broadcast properties. Rights have moved between Telenet's Play Sports, Eleven Sports and DAZN in the space of a few seasons, with each move producing a new app, a new price and a fresh round of confusion about which subscription actually shows your club. For an IPTV service the practical question is whether it keeps up — and several do not.
Cycling is the other Belgian obsession and it is far better served. The Ronde van Vlaanderen, Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the cobbled classics run on VRT and RTBF free to air, and Sporza's coverage is among the best in the sport. What that means for an IPTV lineup is that both public broadcasters are non-negotiable — a Belgian household will not accept a package that drops Sporza in April.
Add the Red Devils, whose qualifiers split by language broadcaster, and the Champions League nights, and Belgian peak load is unusual: it spikes on Sunday afternoons for cycling as hard as it does on Wednesday nights for football. Test a service on both.

IPTV is standard infrastructure in Belgium — Proximus Pickx has been an IPTV platform for years, and both VRT and RTBF stream their full lineups online.

Do not accept a lineup that carries VRT but skimps on RTBF, or vice versa. In a country where half the household may watch in a different language, a one-sided package creates a daily argument. Check both during the trial.
