This ranking is built from published specs, channel lineups and how each service positions itself — not a claim of independent lab testing. It's weighted toward the things that actually ruin an evening: channel depth, stream stability under peak load, on-demand library, device coverage, support responsiveness and price.
We load streams at the busiest moment of the local sporting week, not at a convenient hour. Frame drops, buffering and stream failures under real load decide most of the ranking.
A channel listed in the guide has to actually resolve and carry what the guide says it does. Padded lineups full of dead entries score badly however large the headline number.
Programme data has to match the broadcaster's published schedule. A guide that shows yesterday's listings is a daily annoyance that no channel count compensates for.
We check Fire TV Stick, Android TV, Smart TV apps, iOS and MAG boxes, including older hardware that plenty of households are still running.
We contact support during an outage window rather than at 10am on a Tuesday. A ticket queue that answers in two days is not support for live television.

Channel Lineup
A Swiss lineup needs all three SRG SSR language services plus the neighbouring national broadcasters. If a service only carries the German-language side, it is not really a Swiss package.
Live Sport
Swiss sport has two peaks and they land in the same season. The National League — the ice hockey competition that is, by attendance per capita, one of the best supported leagues in the world — runs on MySports, while the Super League football rights sit with blue Sport. Neither platform includes the other, so a Swiss household following both pays twice.
Winter sport is the national obsession and it is better served. The Alpine ski World Cup, with Wengen and Adelboden as home fixtures, runs on SRF, RTS and RSI free to air, and the audience figures during a Lauberhorn weekend are extraordinary for a country of nine million. Any IPTV service marketed to Switzerland has to carry all three SRG language feeds properly, because the commentary language is genuinely a household preference rather than a technicality.
Beyond that, Swiss viewers follow the leagues of their neighbours as a matter of course — the Bundesliga in German-speaking cantons, Ligue 1 and the Top 14 in Romandy, Serie A in Ticino. A large multi-country IPTV lineup fits the Swiss viewing pattern unusually well.

IPTV is legal in Switzerland and is precisely how Swisscom's blue TV and Sunrise TV deliver their services.
Swiss copyright law has historically been more permissive toward private consumption than its neighbours, but the revised Urheberrechtsgesetz that came into force in 2020 tightened obligations on hosting providers and strengthened rights-holder remedies. Operating or reselling an unauthorised service is clearly unlawful; the position for individual private viewing has traditionally been treated more leniently than in Germany, though this should not be read as an assurance.
